The common flu symptoms are: a fever, chills, tiredness, a headache, muscle aches, a dry cough and a sore throat. Children can also suffer from nausea / vomiting and runny nose. Your flu can be mild or bad. It can be mild at first but it can become severe later. Here are the symptoms of Flu:

  • Fever

A fever means your body temperature is higher than normally. If your body temperature is the higher than 98.6°F (37°C) that means you can have a fever. Temperatures above 100.4°F / 38°C are generally considered to be febrile. Normal body temperature varies by person, age, activity, and time of day. If the fever becomes very high (102.2°F / 39°C or higher) you should contact the doctor immediately. A high fever could bring clouded consciousness and hallucinations.

  • Chills

Chills mean you feel cold and they are often related to a high fever. If a fever is as high as 101.3°F / 38.5°C you can feel very cold even if you are in a bed under many blankets and clothes on. Chills make body heat that helps produce fever. Chills may occur at the beginning of an infection and are usually associated with a fever.

  • Tiredness

You can feel extreme tiredness if a flu is severe. This is completely normal. If a flu is bad and you have a high fever maybe you are so tired that you can’t do anything else but sleep. Sleeping helps and when a fever will come down, you feel your condition changes better. If you have not appetite, you have to try to drink a lot of water or juice.

  • Headache

A headache is a common symptom when you have a flu. There are a number of different classification systems for headaches. Probably you have headache pills at home, but if not, you should get them soon from you local drugstore. A headache is such a symptom of flu which is easy to fix almost always.

  • Muscle aches

Muscle aches are not so common symptom of flu like a fever or tiredness but it’s not uncommon symptom. Muscle aches and pains can involve more than one muscle. There are some good homeopathic medicines which help you get rid of muscle aches or with bone aches. You can get those medicines from your local drugstore.

  • Dry cough

There are many diseases whose one of the most common symptom is a dry cough. This symptom is very common if you have a flu. This symptom of flu becomes a wet cough or productive cough as the lungs start to produce more sputum. You should drink a lot of warm water during the day or a mix of grape juice, honey and warm water at least thrice during the day.

  • Sore throat

Sore throats can be uncomfortable and distressing when you have a flu. A sore throat is often caused by an infection in the throat. Some tips how you can treat your sore throat: drink fluids like warm juice, rest your voice, gargle with warm salt water often and maybe take medicated throat sprays. If a sore throat lasts many days or gets much worse, you should go to the doctor.

You do not need to experience all of these symptoms to have the flu. A flu (an influenza) is a very common viral infection that is spread from person to person in secretions of the nose and lungs, for example when sneezing. Usually it’s not a dangerous infection and often disappears in a few days.
